After years in HR leadership roles, I knew firsthand the frustration of trying to fill contract positions. The "post and pray" approach left us with thin applicant pools and candidates who rarely understood the unique demands of contract work. Quality professionals seemed to avoid contract opportunities, while organizations struggled to find talent who could hit the ground running.
But I also saw the other side of the equation through my own career dreams. I'd always envisioned traveling across Canada, taking 12-18 month contract placements in each province - experiencing our beautiful country while building diverse professional experiences. The freedom and growth potential of strategic contract work fascinated me, yet I watched talented professionals dismiss these opportunities simply because they weren't presented properly.
This dual perspective—understanding both the employer's struggle to find exceptional contract talent and the professional's hesitation to explore contract opportunities—sparked the vision for Momentum Talent Solutions

Having worked in HR for years, I know the value in finding that perfect candidate. The easy yes. That's what we want to do for you at Momentum.
As a single mom, I understand the importance of meaningful work that fits your life. This perspective shapes how we approach every Momentum placement, ensuring contract roles create lasting value for businesses while advancing careers.
When I'm not momming it or serving as a board member for a local not-for-profit, you'll find me staying active, whether golfing, mountain biking, or playing volleyball.

Which is why I love helping organizations find people that not only fit the role, but also resonate with the heart of the company, and are ready to show up with curiosity and drive.
Having lived in six countries, I bring a global perspective to every search – a skill that helps me bridge cultures, and identify people that bring value through their adaptability and diversity of experience.
When I’m not searching for your next hire, you’ll usually find me planning my next international adventure, pretending to be a food critic (emphasis on pretending), or aspiring to make it into the Colombian version of So You Think You Can Dance.

Tanya Mayar spent nearly two decades in HR and Project Management working within complex global organizations before launching her own practice.
Over that time she hired 700+ professionals across every level and developed one clear conviction: the right hire does not happen by accident. It happens because someone defined what great actually looks like before the search started.
That is how she works. Scorecard first. Targeted search second. A genuine commitment to both sides of the table, the company and the candidate.
Tanya is bilingual, based in Montreal, and works across Canada. She brings an embedded approach to every search, fully owning the mandate from intake to close.
She finds the person no one else thought to look for. The one the company did not know existed and the candidate did not know they were ready for.
Outside of work she is a mother of two, a regular at hot yoga and boxing, and someone who brings that same energy to everything she does.
